Construction on this model began some time in 1997.  The model was one in a series of NASA space vehicles I made for my high school physics instructor.  The model was set aside for several years while I completed my college degree.  During all that time, all which really remained was to apply the decals to it!  The model itself was made by Revell company back in 1988.  Its molding quality and included decals are far inferior to many other kits, thus causing much grief on my part.  As you can see from the images, there is yellowing in the decals, and other artifacts all over the shuttle orbiter.  I have never been much good at white models.  Anything I paint white (cars, planes, shuttles, you name it), never seems to look quite right in the end.  Either way, this model does look quite imposing in photos, and makes for an interesting display piece.
