Phoenix Gold MS500 Project

This amplifier project consists of installing a pair of MS2125 amplifiers into a MS1000 heat sink.  Effectively becoming a MS1000 with half the 4 ohm power output.

Here are some new parts for the project...

Here are the removed parts so far...

Here is a rough idea what the amp will look like...

Here the older board is completed.  New capacitors have been installed, along with a new gain control, and Burr Brown Op-amps.

Things have changed.  The amplifier is now going to be built around a bright red heatsink.  The first board is done and partially mounted.  The second board is nearing completion, and now needs to be tested.

Both boards are now mounted.  The clamp bars are installed as well, with foam pads under each to keep even pressure on the devices.  RCA jacks are in place and wired.  All screws and washers used are stainless steel to prevent rusting.

At this point I am working on making suitable speaker leads using PG twisted wire.

Here is the amp finished and on the test bench with one side hooked up.
